The Story

of

a Danish Girl in New York

Born in Denmark 1980, Sophie Boesen studied fine arts at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and later at Parsons School of Design. She worked in interior design and architecture for a few years before returning to her passion of Jewelry making. Avoiding the conventions of industrial design, Sophie works on her own styles in an artisanal fashion. Working directly with materials allows serendipitous surprises to occur. Her unique presentation, helps to inform and explain the work, resulting in an ongoing range of functional and decorative jewelry. A continuing dialogue that ends in an elegant production.

Sophie’s design aesthetics draws from her years of involvement in the design industry where focus is on form and function as well as beautiful shapes and contours. Sexy, sultry, dark, and mysterious undertones has been the theme of her jewelry line since its inception in 2014. Sophie specializes in custom one-of a kind pieces. Her raw and sensual esthetic reflects her unique style and each piece is designed, produced and hand made by Sophie herself.

Products:

Sophie believes in the healing powers of stones, materials and the qualities of the meaning within. To ensure sustainability and accountability from start to finish, all materials and stones are ethically sourced from reputable supply chains. Only the finest quality and resources are used, including recovered or recycled gold and gems

While drawing inspiration from graphic shapes and natural elements, not one piece should replicate or copy a specific shape. Each design is an idea of the familiar in a new context.

” My jewelry is sexy with a bit of edge and sophistication. A modern statement worn to be deeply personal, like a glimpse in the eye of the soul. (Or a wink)”
